Monero transactions are secured by multiple layers of peer-reviewed cryptography that conceals both the amount you send and who you transact with. Traditional Monero wallets require downloading gigabytes of blockchain data and scanning it entirely each time you access your balance on a new device. MyMonero eliminates this bottleneck through lightweight wallet technology: you get instant access to your balance and transaction history from any device, without scanning the blockchain. Your wallet secret keys and spend key never leave your phone—they remain encrypted locally. Only your view key is shared with a MyMonero-compatible server, so we have no ability to move your funds even if we wanted to. Prefer a different server? Switch it in Preferences anytime.

Sending Monero is streamlined for real-world use. Ask a friend to generate a Request QR code, scan it with your phone, and send in seconds. Managing dozens of 95-character addresses is tedious—MyMonero's built-in smart contacts let you save friends' details and even auto-lookup Monero addresses from OpenAlias-enabled websites using an email or domain name. All contact data and requests stay on your device under AES-256 encryption that only your password can unlock. The app automatically locks when you step away.

You can create payment requests and view balances in your preferred world currency—USD, EUR, and others. When someone scans your request, their app calculates the exact Monero amount at that moment's exchange rate. MyMonero supports multiple wallets simultaneously, so you can keep separate accounts for savings and spending.

There are no MyMonero surcharges—you pay only the standard Monero network fee to send, receiving is free, and adding wallets costs nothing. The entire project is open-source and has been reviewed by the Monero community. MyMonero was founded by a Monero core team member in 2014 and is operated by Monero contributors.
